Controlling the Internet: What Every Website Must Have

The most important thing any brand or business needs is a website. There are many reasons as to why a website is necessary to have a successfully functioning business. In this blog post, we will dig deeper into the what’s and the why’s of everything your website should have.

Logo & Color Scheme (UX/UI):

Your website is most likely going to be your audience’s first point of contact with you. You may be asking yourself, “What does that mean?”, and I’ll explain it. Regardless of a conversation, your website is a point of contact for your audience/clients. It’s where they can get to know your products, services, and other information without speaking to a sales rep or customer support. Having your branding and your company’s color scheme will play a huge part in identifying your brand and establishing recognition with your audience. It is important that your color scheme and logo blend and flow well together, giving your website an appealing and clean look. Websites that don’t blend well or look appealing will result in higher bounce rates.

Call-To-Action Buttons:

Call-To- Action buttons are an important factor in turning website visits into sales. This in turn will increase your conversion rate. Call-To-Action buttons are buttons that link your audience to a checkout page, sign up sheet, or contact page. The main point of Call-To-Action buttons is to get them started in purchasing your products or services. You don’t want to flood your page with too many buttons, but also want to have enough. We recommend 3-4 call-to-actions on a page with one being above the fold of the page.

Smooth Functionality:

Nothing is more frustrating than a slow loading website or a website that’s complex to navigate. Your website should have load times no longer than two seconds to be considered fast. Anything longer than three seconds is considered slow. Make sure your content files are compressed or make sure you only have needed files on your website to help with load times. You also need to make sure your site structure/sitemap is easy to navigate. Make sure your key information is only 1-2 clicks away from the home page or landing pages. People hate digging for the information so keep your menu and site structure short and sweet. If you’re running an e-commerce site, keep your product filters, layouts, and checkout system simple and clean to read.

SEO:

SEO is an extremely important part of any website. This is what will drive ORGANIC traffic to your site. Nothing is better than an organic lead that you didn’t have to pay for. What’s some good tips for increasing SEO? Titling your images, choosing the right keywords, tags, heading titles/types, etc. There’s so much that goes into increasing and boosting your rank on Google with SEO. Starting a blog with consistent and good content also helps with SEO and site traffic.

Some key tools: Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Yoast SEO, AIOSEO, and SEMRush

Quality Content & Information:

Having quality content helps attract your audience and keep people on your site, which in turn decreases your bounce rate. Having bad quality images, poorly written content, and sloppy information will make your audience lose trust in you. The better your content & information is, the more your audience will trust you and turn into a client. Clean images, knowledgeable information about your services/products, as well as content about you and your company/brand are good places to start. Once you do those basics, start with posting a quality blog with solid content to keep your current audience interested and engaged as well as attracting new site visitors.

Closing Remarks:

Websites will never stay static. You should always be updating or adding content on your website. Think of your website like a YouTube channel or TikTok page. If you don’t upload on a consistent basis, you won’t gain traffic. Google is constantly crawling websites and pulling analytics to help people find exactly what they are looking for. To dominate the internet, you must incorporate the basics into your website and continue to incorporate them even after the initial setup. We also provide services to help with this.
